If the PvP zone used a decent match making system so that I could go up against other players that were similar to my power level, I would definitely make use of it. Suffice to say, I think good PvP is a greatly underappreciated element in the design struggle to give the player a reason to get better and better stuff. But I think that's mostly due to solvable problems: a historically defeatist attitude and lack of emphasis on taking an active role in it from the developers (I think D2 was in many ways, a happy accident in that regard). I think a lot of people don't realise the depth PvP offered in Diablo II, which is a hugely missed opportunity.Īdmittedly, few games have done it well ince, especially PoE and D3.
